Corporate History
PowderTech was founded in 1999 by D.C. (Doug) Brown. The foundation of
success has been based on very simple ideas. PowderTech built a reputation on the same basic principles as all
successful businesses – Quality, Commitment, On-Time Delivery, and Communication - but added one distinct
difference - Price. Price is that all important aspect to making a deal happen providing the four previous elements
are intact. To overcome the operating cost barriers due to tax structure and regulations in a variety of
surrounding states, the company researched and found locating in South Dakota solved a host of these cost issues
and allowed for a much lower operating overhead.
PowderTech’s business model has been designed around meeting the compliance standards set forth
in ISO-9001 / AS-9100. We are ISO-9001:2008 certified. These principles and guidelines provide the best
method to implement measured improvements across all areas of production.
PowderTech’s efforts to achieve a six ∑ level of defects starts with every product introduction
(PPAP - Pre Production Analysis Process) and how it’s accomplished. A well thought out process, it considers the
elements of process risk and builds in safeguards so that the risk is reduced to its lowest possible
level.
In order to offer a flexible and co-operative approach to customer requirements, production
scheduling is done with a system that allows for review during work in progress. The product is identified upon
system entry at arrival and each operational process to provide total part traceability.
PowderTech believes in order to exceed customer expectations, the company must recognize factors
that extend beyond just the technical specifications of the project. Things like energy costs, environmental
considerations, transportation, lead times, and raw material pricing are just some of the additional issues
considered by PowderTech in providing best in class finishing. When done properly, it allows our customers to
better manage their business and maintain their profit margins.
PowderTech has been operating profitably for most of its years in operation. Our financial
stability has allowed us to invest in business development, including new state of the art finishing services and
support for clients in niche markets. Together with a wider range of finishing options for low, medium and high
volume production requirements, PowderTech continues to offer new customers a vertically designed approach to their
finishing needs.
Finding the right corporate fit can be a time consuming process. This is especially true if what
you have been promised is not delivered by your current processor. The damage done to your company’s reputation
because of lost time, missed ship dates, and poor product are hardly the basis for a successful business
relationship. Our experienced approach ensures an outcome in line with your objectives.
